Solar Rooftop System consists of solar panels that are mounted up on your roof/terrace, unlike traditional Solar Systems which required extra land for setup. This reduces costs and increases utilization of space on your roof/terrace.
There exist three main types of Solar Rooftop Systems-
1. On-Grid Rooftop Systems – These systems are connected to the main power grid and sends excess power back to the grid. Hence, they don’t require batteries to store power. This system is recommended for those looking to reduce their monthly bill, situated in places with low frequency of power outages and want to make money from the sun.
2. Off-Grid Rooftop System – These systems require batteries to store energy for later use as they are not connected to the main grid. They are best suited for areas where grid connectivity is bleak. Consequently, they are costlier than their On-Grid counterpart because of the inclusion of batteries.
3. Hybrid Systems – They are grid connected and also consist of batteries to store power. Obviously, they are the costliest of the three and are considered a luxury option as they encompass both On-Grid and Off-Grid’s core competencies.
